Unfortunately we live in a very litigious society.

The sickness is our INSANE society today who has ENTITLEMENT-CANCER and think's they can just say thing's into existence removed of all sense, common or obvious. 

But all that is just part of human nature and society we live in.

With regards to "red tape" I'll tell you that the week after we closed on our property we received a letter from the historical society welcoming us as new owners, but they also informed us that any work done to the exterior needs to be approved by them first.

What I have been seeing is that current estate planning is NOT serving modern society and families.

The best part of the book is his epilog where he writes a masterful and convincing argument for the benefits to the family and to society for housing stability. 

It doesn't save you money (you are $30k in debt), it disrespects the property your mother gave you, and it's not healthy for a variety of other reasons society will never tell you.
