There are some solid investments in the Reno, NV area and strong economic investments from Silicon Valley.

I would wait for the next major downturn if you are wedded to investing here, however, I think it would be good for your to at least consider to sell some now and diversify.I've posted this bit elsewhere and I'll share it again:I live in Silicon Valley, and I'm an investment advisor who specializes in real estate.

@David Traeger Depending on your view of the market, for Silicon Valley capital appreciation and the extremely strong rental market (quality of tenants, v low vacancy, consistent job and income growth...etc)

Just want you to know that my company is based in IL and Silicon Valley. 

I know the city extremely well, as I've grew up here, so my only addition is knowing competitive advantages of the landscape, i.e. incoming Silicon Beach tech scene, gentrifying hip neighborhoods, etc.

Vegas isn't too far from the Silicone Slopes up here in Utah.

I have worked on a lot of group up projects around the Silicon Valley.
