Mostly leftovers, we didn't buy them, but they rent well.

However college kids or young professionals will most likely not care.In Danbury you have to look out for hidden gems.

The down payment is being estimated by our loan officer currently, but we are thinking around 12k which will leave us with around 6-7k leftover from what we had put aside.

My kids and extended family are in the lower 48 so I don't mind excuses to get down there- and the sun too! 

And as a young kid I spent my summers with my grandparents.. they had a cabin on Lake Poygan.. by Winneconne . fond memories..

For a place like that a sleeper sofa would be appropriate if there are kids traveling with parents, but IMO even 2 bedroom units would have 1 bedroom go unused most of the time. 

Even before I had kids, managing rentals could be a headache, and now time is even more limited.

Or we've also been exploring moving to a district with a better high school for the kids in a few years and turning the current place into a rental.

With absolutely no prior experience investing in real estate, I'm getting to the point/age where retirement from corporate America is getting closer and closer, however I still have 2 kids to put through college over the next 2-6 years.

I am single with no kids.
