Keep in mind that I am selling them as affordable fixer uppers and usually only address any health, safety, and functionality issues.

While it may possible in older homes, water damage is still a concern and raises health concerns. 

@Sofia De Santos Tavarez if you haven't already, have the property professionally inspected.This should catch MOST of the structural, health & code issues - but not all.
