They should not SET the commission amount, because as the DOJ says, they do so under the threat of a group boycott if they don't offer the "standard" (which I know is a word you are not supposed to say).The reason Realtors and the NAR are fighting so hard to keep seller set commissions, is that buyers do not believe they get $12,000 worth of service when they buy the average $400k home.

(Not that it's likely to be worth a legal fight I would guess.)

Also the comps they provided were pretty realistic so I didn't even fight it.

You feel you have to rebut my comment to bolster/protect your business that’s fine, but I would suggest you steer clear of exposing client financials unless your in the business of fighting legal suites rather than real estate. 

They were mean to him, training him to fight and be aggressive. 

However I'm thinking if I ever hit the windfall on something like this, their pockets are probably way deeper than mine and I'm not going to want to spend the money to fight it.

again, no dog in this fight, but as someone who runs a debt fund I am pretty sure I can piece together what occurred based on reading SEC filings and the above. 

- regional / drivable destination (I've personally rented out a bunch of Airbnbs here)- already established STR laws (while very strict, they have shown to grandfather in permits and haven't proposed a flat out ban that would also retroactively take away permits)- Fredericksburg also fights new hotels just as hard as STRs.
