He has a non-violent felony record, first time offender, great job, great guy... however ran background check and he came back approved.

I determined through a Google search that both tenants have violent criminal records so I would prefer to remain anonymous (they don't know my name, contact information, what I look like, etc.). 

I'm imagining crawling under a sink to fix a leak, locked in a house alone with a recently convicted violent felon.
