I am wondering if you will have an easier time renting a well laid out studio versus this very weird, borderline unusable one bedroom.

I have never been a landlord but Hickory is close enough that I would probably handle it myself versus hiring a property manager.

You can find super affordable homes here below the median home price that beat average rent in these areas.2) If you factor in principal paydown, aka the amount of each monthly mortgage payment that goes back to you in the form of equity, AND the opportunity for appreciation, as Raleigh is expected to grow substantially over the next few years thanks to big corporations and swarms of people moving into the area.... you'll find that the math works our quite favorably for owning a home versus renting.3) When you factor in rate incentives with new construction homes in these areas may be even cheaper.

I see with this with a lot of local banks or credit unions.The Banker should have walked you through the basics on County loan limts versus Jumbo &  High balance.

Who cares if you're $200 negative if you're property Value Went up $1400 a month.if your property appreciates $1400.00 a month  versus negative rent of $200 .Hopefully Joe this helps 

This is not as involved as a 203K renovation loan, but it  does require 5% down versus 3.5% down. 

Sometimes there is only great recession data, and that recession was pretty mild on some asset classes, versus previous recessions.

For someone getting started out, I would house hack first versus doing a renovation.That way you will see the true cost of ownership and renovations are not for the faint of heart.

Or any tax strategies that I’m potentially missing out on by not setting it up in an LLC versus personal conventional mortgages?
