These are same type of people who rent big screen TV's at those "Rent-A-Center" places and end up paying $1700 for a TV one can buy at Walmart for under $700.Because these landlords know their tenants are consistent payers (just late) they happily pocket the extra $50 or more money they receive from them every month and not worry about this.

Instead, ViaSat seems one (or perhaps the only) satellite internet provider and from what I can tell, they have serious data cap rates on their high-speed data (even with their platinum plan)Does anyone have experience with ViaSat (or alternatives) and can provide insight on how viable this is for STR properties (we fortunately plan on cable TV with DIRECTV via AT&T)?

If the highest and best use of your time is achieved by working a W2 job, another money generating activity, or in leisure...then by all means hire help in the form of a PM to take the management task off of your plateOn the other hand, if retaining the 8-12% to be paid for help is more important than other activities...then you probably want to figure out how to manage it yourself.There is no right or wrong answer.
