The builder usually has some type of warrenty other than that closing is pretty traditional which would have been similar to your first house.

Yea the thing that was confusing was that the listed rentals on Zillow or Redfin had pretty big discrepancies in price while they appeared to me to be of similar quality. 

Has anyone experienced something similar before?? 

If you'd live in a tent under the bridge if you weren't house hacking, well then it might be more expensive for you, but most people would live in similarly expensive housing, only have nothing to show for it.

I have a couple of friends and clients who have tried them and, from what I've heard, similar experience to what @Amere Mack had experienced.

However, ADUs still add substantial value by increasing the overall utility and potential income generation of the property.When it comes to appraisal, an appraiser will consider the added value of the ADU based on comparable properties in the area (comps) that have similar features, including ADUs if available.

You may not see the exact listings I posted but you see very similar ones right?
