Also my CPA says it needs to be paid by 6/15 which im definitely not doing, way too early.

A casual conversation with another CPA told us that he is so I'm not sure what I've shared that tells you he doesn't qualify?

CPA recommended we open a joint business checking account under both of our names to keep tax season simple.

It's probably time for you to get a CPA to help with taxes and questions like this.If my wife and I were in this situation, I'd have her keep it as a Sole Prioprietorship. 

based on this its what ever you all agree to and are happy with.. as long as you get some cash and you record your DT or mortgage in first position and then have co bene's on the mort/dt / note then thats all you really need.. you all might want to talk to a decent CpA about this.
