The sponsor contacted me in private and was very upset that I shared 'confidential information' from the PPM, and they weren't okay with it.

It just means that the buyer is going through the transaction unrepresented, UNLESS both the seller and buyer sign a contract accepting the agent as a "disclosed dual agent".With that disclosed dual agency, the agent must maintain confidentiality between parties and deal fairly with both.
