In your climate, I would probably use faced polyisocyanurate on the the external side of the wall assembly.Plan sounds reasonable ... the more insulation the better whether you live someplace hot or cold as it keeps the heat on the correct side of the wall.

More to the point, I think you are confusing "climate" with "weather".

Skilled investors will adjust and manuevor to make things happen regardless of climate.

I wonder how they can be so accurate about the climate decades in the future when they can't even predict this year's hurricane season (which they've blown two years in a row).

I can't speak to your energy prices there, but you can use heat pumps in that climate year round.
