We are looking to buy a home for ourselves by early 2022 (after our wedding) and I wanted to make it an opportunity to begin a portfolio of SFHs.

In trying to get creative in this market, I've been looking for mountainy locations with many nearby wedding venues with the idea to Airbnb a nice home nearby.

Because in that discussion, the tenant who doesn't make a living through the property is just a peasant serf expected to work the land for his lord or be whipped for laziness, give his his bride to his lord on his wedding night, and drop dead swinging a hoe or pickax in the lord's fields.

Curious about all of this because there may be a possibility of converting the barn to a wedding venue.

Before we closed on this as-is deal, we strategized to get the necessary work to make it "rental ready" and not go over the top with anything in terms of spending, partially due to an upcoming wedding and a few pending repairs needed at other properties.
