All you need is for a couple larger landlords to gift some of their bad debt to these politicians where anything they collect they keep and watch how fast money will come out of nowhere to repay these debts.  

After the great Chicago fire our politicians have voted very strict building codes.

The media and politicians are making this a bigger issue than it is for their own benefits. 

Politicians are always downplaying the crime in their neighborhoods.

It's just another eviction moratorium that could theoretically last forever if the politicians don't fund the program or dismantle the program entirely. 

I'm all for the idea, I just think the city codes and politicians are not, for the most part. 

But I don't see how we can avoid "politics", especially when the OP had a question about a law (passed by politicians) that negatively impacts our shared business (real estate investing).

Politicians are the only ones that benefit from "programs" like rent control.
