Think of this from two perspectives...Are you an aspiring Realtor (read that as working in a bull pen, getting to share a farm area, and working at a "big box" Brokerage)?

Find a mentor within your brokerage or area, and just try to spend a couple of hours every month learning how they run their business.

You need a signed cancellation from both parties, and then the selling brokerage has to release the funds.

I am part of a brokerage as well so I have to abide by their rules and take into account the money that I have to pay in there also.  

Just passed my exam on Friday and am wondering if any of you have recommendations for the best brokerage in Rancho Bernardo (92128). 

I run into to many people in this industry who don't seem to understand that everyone needs to have something that they are bringing to the table.Myself I have infrastructure, knowledge and connections in the Cleveland market as I own and operate an investment brokerage/construction company that has a pretty large portfolio.  

Once I'm licensed, do I have to split those wholesale fees with my brokerage?

I am finishing an MBA in CRE and have brokerage experience.

It is a common fee charged by almost all brokerages.....the client either pays it, or the agent pays it out of their commission.
