I have family in NYC and was checking out some prices recently, looks like you can get some decent stuff in Staten Island for even like 150-200k a unit in low crime areas, which to be honest competes with Minneapolis prices..

Just today I was reflecting on different neighborhoods of Minneapolis, one duplex less than one mild from another with identical specs can have double or half the value of the other.

The most sizeable declines were in Minneapolis, MN (18.6%), Tulsa, OK (8.5%), Albuquerque, NM (6.0%), Lubbock, TX (5.3%), Grand Rapids, MI (4.9%), Jersey City, NJ (4.3%), and Indianapolis, IN (4.2%).So once again it all really depends on location.
