I am currently building at Detached Accessory Dwelling unit (DADU) behind a property I am about to rent.

They will take a check for $5K and reserve a slot..

While I'm open to the idea, constructing an ADU/DADU on a SFH doesn't particularly appeal to me, especially as a first-time homebuyer.

Seattle is terrible and Tacoma is apparently trying to top Seattle as the least friendly to landlords.House-hacking can be a great starting point, especially finding a SF with an ADU/DADU or room to add one. 

Their stories often make it seem as easy as dropping a quarter into a slot machine that always pays out.Perhaps you'd consider partnering with someone who would willingly rehab the properties you find in order to add value.

ThanksI didn't realize that some parks had waiting lists. would you usually aim for a certain demographic when filling the empty slots? 

You can probably buy a single family and build a Detached accessory dwelling unit (DADU) in backyard.If you have experience and can finance 30–40% of project through a construction loan, you can go big as long as zoning allows, and numbers make sense

If you're on an NR zoned lot you may have to settle for a DADU build in the back if you have the setback requirements met.Feel free to PM me with more specific questions!
