If your kid got a degree in engineering, made good grades, got internships, got a scholarship here and there, went to the community college for basics and for summer classes etc., than I can't see that ending in anything but a success story.

Check with post housing and see if there are any COLA adjustments, I don't think you're in a high cost of living area and check on availability of housing for upper grades. :)

You may also need to install remedial beams across the piers to support the floor slab that was designed to be supported on grade but will now be suspended in the air as the soil settles under self weight but the building does not.
