Certain investors opt to buy properties on an individual basis, which they subsequently transfer to an LLC when funding is obtained.Ultimately, whether or not to create an LLC before purchasing a property is a personal decision.

Luckily for me most of the main horizontal lines are in the ceiling of the basement unit so I am gonna go ahead and change all of them and I feel confident it’ll be a good decision.

More people in the mix means more opinions, which can slow decision-making or create conflicts if you're not aligned.

It is much easier to have the discussions when a decision is not required to be made and figure out how to resolve them now compared to when the time comes.

Some states also require an annual license fee to own and operate an LLC so that could also cause a potential for increased costs there as well.I would consult with a real estate attorney to see if an LLC makes sense from a legal standpoint and advise your accountant as to your decision so the appropriate tax filings can be made. 

Left a message with StateFarm to get back with me yesterday, but guessing since they're intending to cancel me on not living there full time, they'll stick with their decision.

Ultimately just need to look at everything before making a decision.
