There’s a lot I *could* do to it, but I ultimately decided that the main value to be unlocked was in making it not look like and feel grandma’s house anymore.  

Also that this is an A / B+ neighborhood in a great school district with zero crime (some residents even leave doors unlocked).

Went back to the front gate and unlocked it so the Sheriff could drive straight in.

The credit score should rise in the next 2-3 months which would unlock some finances for me. 

In this situation it sounds like the wholesaler is either super lazy or doing this remotely, and is convincing the owner to leave the door unlocked. 

The screen doors, however, can be left unlocked.

We even bought a new primary (temporary) to unlock the rental potential in our first primary home.
