Things like this can irritate me as well. 

I personally have spent more than 25 years in the petrochemical industry and have had to wear fresh air respirators and full chemical suits in numerous pressure vessels and towers that have had toxic or inert atmospheres that were considered IDLH "Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health", and I still don't have the time nor the desire to worry about how someone's hair or lack thereof would impact whether or not I could work for or with them.

If you aren't shoving hot grease down your drains and/or toxic chemicals and/or sanitary napkins, you can go for years without having to have a tank pumped.

Just from researching the different types of flooring I inevitably came across their toxicity. 

If they make it through these then I might ask for something to be changed if the project can be done slightly differently, again irritation, rudeness,  etc and they get cut.

I find it irritating that it will be a month before anyone can even show it even though I know the current renters are moving out. 

It sounds like foreign buyers are having a toxic effect on your market, & corroding the ability of those tied to the local economy to purchase homes.

Re a nail salon next door: The toxic chemical fumes from it would drive customers away in short order, and probably make the other side uninhabitable.
