My question is can we sell it to our LLC and use the profits to purchase our new home, or will it reduce our asset protection since the LLC is a pass through with just me in it.SMLLC is disregarded for tax purpose, so you cant sell house to yourself from tax perspective.

Maybe one of our resident attorneys will chime in.For tax purposes, as @Allan Smith correctly pointed out, your LLCs are probably both disregarded, so it should not make any difference on your bottom line.

So if your LLC doesn't comply with local laws, because the laws are different in the other state, then it may be disregarded.
