Earthquakes, tornados, mudslides, flooding, blizzards etc all cause property damage, but at least I know a hurricane is coming and can get the heck out of town.

The building uses prefabricated modules (with a +/- 0.2mm precision in the fabrication process) mounted on a steel structure, with diagonal steel bracing.The hotel is so solid that it can resist a 9 magnitude earthquake, as tested by the China Academy of Building Research (there's a scene in which you can see the testing process, at 1:49).

To further spread the risk, I'd look to buy 2-3 different buildings, so that not all my money is tied up in one giant complex that if it fails (hurricane, earthquake, sink hole, insurance doesn't pay out, etc.), costs me everything.I'm also looking forward to being able to take advantage of economies of scale when it comes time to raise rents every year.

2nd - aside from being bullet proof (and bazooka shells bounce off nicely as well), They can stand up to a Cat 5 Hurricane And Tornado, are fire resistant & flood resistant, and the walls don't tumble down in an earthquake - Also - wood destroying insects and mold don't give a hoot about 16 gauge corten steel - makes the insurance companies REALLY happy!

For things like earthquakes or hurricanes, where you can have a lot of claims at once, you charge higher premiums.AIG, though, wrote a bunch of policies to insure debt.

The specific exclusions listed on this binder state the policy doesn't cover for: Earth Movement or Earthquake, Lead Contamination, Injury resulting from Trampoline, Mold & Fungus, Domestic or Sexual Violence, War & Terrorism, Injury resulting from Pool, limited injury from Dog & Wild Animal.

I remember that earthquakes are more severe out by Palmdale, so make sure you have very good insurance with a top insurer.

Hey all, Greetings from rainy panama....óriginally from jamaica....lotsa reggae music but violent down there.....had family in panama so i migrated....beautiful here...plenty jungle, lush greenery.....modern living.....but third world to most who live here.....financially....panama suits retirees or expatriates of the developed world with some money under their belts to come and invest or retire....lots of call center jobs for english speakers.....plenty other northerners migrating here.....the taxis are cheap, food and clothing are cheap....and crime is well under control with armed police patrolling the streets.....there has never been an earthquake here so the city has lended itself to high rise apartments for living and commerce....plenty of them....plenty of competition with prices so you can get what you want for the price that you want...anyone want further info.....post a reply...till then...malcolm

It gets ice and snow in the winter but overall no storms with names, floods or earthquakes.
