Hey everyone, I've been lurking/checking out Biggerpockets for about 6 months now and have been just trying to soak up as much knowledge about the buy and hold technique.

I'm also in Chattanooga and trying to soak in as much information as possible.

My wife and I enjoy watching those shows for entertainment and to soak in different ideas on design choices like where/when to remove walls, kitchen layouts, etc.Their market is different than ours, and the P&L's are drastically oversimplified to the point that I'd never expect to replicate their results.

Great advice Tim, I'm soaking this all up and your advice is still affecting people 8 months later!

If it is saltillo (and even if it isn't, I would say any kind of terra cotta could be this way since it's unfinished clay) it is pourous and will soak up anything that gets on it. 

In the meantime soak up as much free information that you can find.
