If the legislature does not figure out some clever way to "extend it without extending it" (which they probably will), because this will create bad PR for their "downtrodden" tenant constituents (many of whom have collected stimulus money, buffed up unemployment, and other public assistance for MONTHS and ignored their rent obligations with no consequences), I am sure the politicians will find some way to drag out all the eviction hearings.

Don't get me wrong..I love Austin but its ironic when the city politicians say we want more affordable housing and then have strong restrictions on limiting building in neighborhoods.

Makes it easy for politicians to cover doing nothing by blaming rich people.Worked great in pre-war Germany by blaming a certain religious group for the problems of the general population.Sad how it speaks to the average IQ of people.Since Ds own Congress and the Presidency, I'd think it'd be prime to shove stuff like that thru.
