It is great that they get $60 a day but in my experience the lodges and inns are this price.

Off scaffolds. another company builds scaffolds. typically 300 hands (not to be racist or what ever just stating a fact, mostly scaffold builders are LEGAL Hispanics, who jump at the chance of 7 or 8 sharing costs.) and crane operators, truck drivers, fork lift operators... that makes up the rest all in all in a typical "shut down" around 2000 people come to work in a single place. mostly all living out of town. so they need lodging.... downside is that the shut downs only last 30 to 45 days (during which time it would be wise to increase rates because the average worker will be working 7 days a week 12 hours a day or more... average weekly check is +2500)Another aspect of it is when the plant has new construction, projects like that normally last 1.5 to 2 years and turnarounds usually last 9 to 12 months... thats just at one plant.

The only problem I have is in BC , Alberta , and Saskatchewan I have had an interest in Purchasing a Hunting / Fishing / Lodge / Outfitting Business on a few occasions and now as my facing Retirement and wanting to again do such I have been told by 3 seperate RE Brokers that because I am NOT a Canadian Citizen that is NOT possible to do .How does that affect my ability to Invest in any Canadian Business such as SFH or Multi's ?

Get a good CPA, you will need one.So basically, all I pay in taxes is self-employment tax of like 16% (SSI, Medicare), and the there's lodging, bed, and sales tax, which I carry over to my customers.

Unless you are putting bunks beds and converting your house into a lodging house, it’s just renting a room that is otherwise empty, isn’t it?

We have been planning to build a house on it next year but there is also demand and success in the area with smaller boutique style lodgings.
