If you can produce good revenue for a couple years with a business you will be able to get good lines of credit which is what I have done, but it takes time.1) Once you get that CC debt paid off make sure you don't accrue anymore.

Injuries are the biggest lawsuits, but even those are primarily settled out of court and paid by insurance.

I think you're right, the lack of control is probably going to be your biggest emotional hurdle.There may be some middle ground that softens that blow up.
