Whenever I see a commercial building for sale that catches my interest, I save it then follow up on the auditors site to find out what it sold for.

Any tax beast opposing your allocation will need to weigh the benefit of time and effort expensed in assessing the issue diferently, not worth the effort of any auditor I'd think, unless you had other issues in question.

I guess the double close would keep the seller in the dark as well as the buyer for the time being but usually only the second transaction is recorded so they can go on Zillow or the auditor and see what you sold it for.
