We love it but the real estate market is dominated by mostly wealthy Americans, Canadians and Europeans(Gringos).

You just don’t see big gas guzzlers like that in Europe and parking would be very difficult in most European cities.

Like, you just started your European vacation and you forgot to bring your lists of passwords with you and a guest is standing at the door and can't figure out how to get in. 

I would have to agree with some previous posters - I live in SoCal too and invest professionally for European retirement funds and we don't do a whole lot here as the yields are very low, and hard to tell where the market is going.Based on owning a lot of properties in C (on a good day) class areas across the country, I often find vacancy and especially repair costs climbing much higher than expected.

Why is it acutely bad now, covid , long run zoning laws restrict multi family housing in most parts of most cities and most major metro areas have run out of farmland to build new housing on so there is not nearly enough land to build housing to keep up with population growth.

This online option may not be available in smaller towns but most major metropolitan areas should be able to provide something similar.
