Does that sound like a good first step to make my first plunge into REI?  

From there I pulled some equity out of my home(still a conservative amount) and took the plunge.

Hi all.I haven't made the plunge into buying my first property yet, however I'm working hard on the analyze phase.

I think if I can show that nurses who want to own a home and start a family will have an easier time doing so in Houston, that will reduce the friction that is keeping them from taking the plunge and moving cross-country. 

I was all ready to take the plunge but now you got me rethinking the whole deal.And as far as buying property in NWI, I am originally from that area so I thought if I got some property out that way for a while, I could write off a bunch of expenses every time I came out there to visit friends and family... :-)And I am definitely thinking about CO too since we will move out that way in the next 4-5 years but getting started in NWI seems like a cheaper way to get it all started.So now I just have to figure out what to do with my 401K.

I learned quickly that, in my case, you just need to plunge in and learn along the way.
