We are not legally allowed to charge for heat because it is deemed a necessity by the city.

The lot size is 700 square feet and I am unsure if I would have the ability to add a bathroom or if it would be worth it if I could still get 3br market rent.No major improvements would be needed as a necessity.

I don't think it's a necessity, but it sure is helpful.

With tenants in a property I see this protection as a necessity.

@Tara Piantanida-Kelly if it were my sister, here's what I would tell her:If you have a significant capital gain on the property and they were originally planning to sell out of necessity, they should consider selling because of the tax free capital gain opportunity.

Since is not a necessity, I would wait until more funds are available for such a big project though.

Its really a necessity if there is no garage.
