Taking time to write out a plan, instead of being handed one; self discipline as opposed to having a set of tasks done before my next check in with the "teacher." are probably equally effective if you take two people with the same level of motivation each prepared to invest the same dollar resources in their venture. 

I feel comfortable with my process as I know I am not discriminating due to any of the protected statuses, and I’m also documenting everything and treating everyone equally.

I am equally frustrated by this, but I don't have a silver bullet. 

You can get an equal or less quality hotel room at the Holiday Inn (likely w/o a kitchen) for $100+ a night.

Finally, I use the monthly % discount to then make the OTA payout  equal to my direct booking payout.
