We have slowly acquired a small self storage facility, an 8 unit apartment, completed a large rehab project, and turned our previous personal house into a rental after moving into the rehab project.

The goals that I hope to achieve through real estate investing are: 1) to provide a cash flow stream for my mother as she gets older and requires assisted living or nursing home facilities, 2) provide a cash flow stream for my younger brother (who has Down's Syndrome) as he gets older and requires assisted living facilities and increased medical attention, and 3) provide a means of early retirement for me and my older brother.While listening to BP podcast #276 (my favorite) the other morning, I had that lightbulb moment of how to get started in real estate investing.

If you are an Accredited Investor, you could place that 100K with an experienced sponsor in a real estate syndication in any number of asset classes (Large Multifamily, Self Storage, Mobile Home Parks, Assisted Living Facilities).

It is a little tongue in cheek but I like it:"If you are cooking eggs and bacon, the hen is interested but the pig is committed" The point the book was making and I believe you are making is the same-you have to be the pig in business if you want to succeed (maybe just not to the point of having to sacrifice you life for it).

As you may recall, I have some tenants moving out that cooked extensive Indian food which tends to linger a bit more due to all the amazing yummy spices.Can you recommend a good carpet cleaner and maybe the same or separate company to give the house that new house smell?
