A HELOC will not allow you to deduct I believe on the interest unless the money is utilized for repairs on your primary residence and not to buy another home.

These have two very different next steps.If it is a condo, you need to check your condo docs and see where the unit ends and what is common area. if its a leak in a pipe in a wall that is typically common owner and the condo association should take care of it.

I have spoken to my neighbours but they do not know who the HOA board members are ( it is a large complex with 100 + townhouses).It is very strange but it has not proved to be a problem in the past as the management company deal with the properties externally ( eg painting ) and the common parts and have always done so competently and individual oners deal with the inside of the properties.They are now proceeding with the painting without doing anything about the termites.

I appreciate the input Danielle ...I see some of these virtual mailbox companies have an app and you can see what mail has been received on the app, while others allow mail forwarding ... are you utilizing any of this or just using the physical address for your LLC paperwork to be delivered?

The actual benefit of syndication is only if there are special event where sponsor is so smart they can make 30 percent IRR in industrial space , but for multifamily no such thing exist ..also with common waterfall these days most risks are taken by LP investor while GP reaps the most benefit.The actual benefit of syndication is we make GP very rich lol
