Actually, a friend once mentioned a unit in Eugene that had to be re-leased after a nasty storm tore off part of the roof.. it’s gritty, hands-on stuff like that which rounds out your perspective. At the end of the day, you don’t need a flawless blueprint to get started.

It is just a matter of whether they broke it or not.It goes the same with all issues such as guest complaining about not being able to check in before check in time, or not able to find the item when we clearly stated where they are and sent them photo proof… I call this stacking the bullets before the battle and I tell my team you guys are sending me without weapon to fight if you don’t do this for me 😂 (I handle all the claims as I do this for my job)You are in an expensive market!

Is Sandy Springs a good area to buy a rental in Georgia?

Admittedly, pricing will often account for any major items, and I don't believe this is true in Sandy Springs, but there are some areas that an interstate cuts off a small part of the neighborhood, and so labeling the neighborhood as "good" may be true for 90% of that neighborhood, but if you are in the 10% that is on the "wrong side" of the interstate, it can be a totally different market.

This could be a great way to get started as you'll be at the property everyday and by living in the property not only will you be there firsthand to oversee the work being done, but you may also find new potential issues while living there. If you're looking to do this, I'd recommend a 203k loan to purchase the property and get some rehab funds. you'll just need to live in the property for a year before being able to lease it out to a tenant.
