Also, in this case, it will probably be cheaper than renting and I will also enjoy all the long-term benefits of owning real estate. 

I am mostly just gauging feasbility, I am still in the research phase of this idea however.  

Periodically checking the realtor.com and zillow "sold" listings in your areas of interest will keep you generally informed on what properties are actually selling for.Feel free to reach out with any questions during your research phase, happy to share some additional stats/info.

I don't mind paying for my flights to keep all these benefits then I get my kids and husband free everything 😊.

We’ve already benefited from the rapid appreciation and from here on out, I think it will be flat or very modest growth.

You might also want to look at the benefit of doing a Cash out refinance and getting rid of that LOC.
