Otherwise, the LLC has no legal standing, and especially if you have to go to court you'll be thrown out.I haven't done it, but I figure going through multiple States only invites additional tax filings.Usually, people look at forming a LLC in WY or DE as a "top level" holding company for the anonymity. 

Sorry to be blunt, but there is a cost of doing business.Ultimately LLC is not the best option for anonymity, but an LLC is for liability protection not anonymity.

The LLC might be anonymous but if your tax return is supoened or checked the property ownership is there for all to see.  

For best protection and anonymity I would recommend using the strategy of land trusts and listing your LLC as the beneficiary and someone else in your family preferably out of state as the trustee .

If you have the right type of anonymity (it sounds like he's referencing a Series LLC w/an anonymous operating LLC) it is a huge lawsuit preventative, in that it requires time, money and effort on the part of someone wanting to sue.
