I know all about the HomeStyle loans, but not really sure on the puzzle of buying a home below market (if in fact we should even do that).  

Another piece to my puzzle is good contractors.I'll be looking to renovate buy and holds and possibly some flips.

Take your time and make sure all the pieces to the puzzle fit.  

And while I realize that in the end, I would have to ultimately be the guarantor for the property, I feel like they're missing out on the "asset" part of the puzzle.

The final piece of the puzzle would be: some shock to cause rent to drop across the board, which would probably accelerate quickly.

Without all three pieces of that puzzle, it'll be a non-starter.I learned the mentally anguishing way... the bottom line is, you have more important things to deal with.

This thread was created as a proactive way to both solve a problem that has not stopped me from closing transactions (but is still a puzzle to solve).

Financing is one a huge piece of the puzzle of real estate investing.

He did end up asking for it and we did get the reduction, but I am still puzzled as to why anyone would think an inspection was not grounds enough to renegotiate price (or repairs).
