Haha that's the $1B question almost every real estate investor asks... if there was a secret website like Zillow for investors then it wouldn't make much sense since every investors would be able to access it and bid up the prices. 

Occasionally if we need a full set we will bid the two against each other to see who comes in cheaper.

I got advice from my relator how to get the house and win the bidding wars going on at the time.

How would I find out if there are any other encumbrance on the home prior to submitting bids? 

We had soooo many offers we jokingly accused our realtor of starting a bidding war.  

If not you will be spending a long time getting individual bids, going over plans and scheduling .

Biggest advice I'd say is get bids and make sure you have the money to take on doing it.

I would also find local contractors and have them give you written bids for the work you would have done if you buy it.

Planning, bidding, demolishing, rebuilding, etc…. and time it to be finished when the “inherited lease” is up.
