With recession supposedly looming, will a downturn be good time to invest in Manhattan for a rental property?

I'm debt adverse when it comes to unsecured, non-cash flowing debt, and those student loans loomed heavy on my conscience every single day.

I think the risk now is not inflation continuing to loom, but rather a severe overcorrection and needless worsening of the economy and growth. 

Not sure it’s an avenue I will go down, but I am looming forward to hearing thoughts on the matter.

Hi @Diego Howard - somebody needing a place ASAP is a red flag (looming eviction, running from something or somebody?). 

I signed up and immediately sent in a question about getting a deal done that had a foreclosure sale date looming.

With soaring inflation and another recession looming, homeowners and investors are all asking the same question.

It may be an ideal time to buy soon, just the past few threads in this forum are indicative of experiences I have been coming across in Niagara. 1) Buyers of new builds with hopes of assigning did not actually have financing in place with closings coming up in the next several months2) Overleveraged single family landlords going into negative cash flow3) Small-scale multi-family landlords with multiple delinquint tenants, that are taking too long to evictThings are just getting started, with another rate hike looming over our heads, not sure how much longer these property owners will be able to continue to hold on.
