HOA's often limit how often you can rent a unit, as well as the number of units that can be rentals.. but that likely isn't the case if you were buying in a resort area... that is more for owner occupied condominiums.  

Hunt for another inexpensive condominium or apartment unit to invest in, likely to produce very low cash flow, but seemingly safe.
