ask them for recent permit pulls in the county and go look them up to verify activity. you can also call the local building department to verify their license and recent activity. if you don't see any run for the hills.

For most contractors no they are not 6 days per week, some will do so but most do not - or they may have one or two people on a weekend to clean up or do some work that requires no one else to be around. 

The title agent has now reahced out to their attorney who will reach out to the foreclosure attorney to get a payoff amount and approval for the sale, but this "could take up to 10 days."
