Locally, I wasn't overly concerned until today when there were big news stories about rationing rice.

It was a very tidy home, 4km from shopping centre, 5km from train station, overlooking rice paddies, close to tourist area.

Obviously the President can't come on TV and tell us to stop going out for dinner and to stock up on beans & rice, but that seems to be what typical American's are missing in the message of its severity, especially considering the price tag.
