Kishora -- Anytime we've had holdups in permits I email (generally, they're very responsive), and I tend to take the "I'm trying to get insight into the objection item, and how can we help" tone, and usually, I find a willing partner on the other end of the phone.  10-12 weeks is a while, usually, its running 4-6 weeks for the last few builds we've done. 

I would approach this question with a few things in mind, such as what are your investing objectives and how much time do you want to dedicate to this. 

This year will be the most I have paid for my taxes to be prepared, and the only year where I will be filing with an extension (and added stress).To be fair and objective with my feedback, the upfront consultation process went well.

By the way if I see the same proposition that was previously on the ballot and got struck down, I automatically vote against it on principle regardless of how I voted for it when it was initially on the ballot.  

Do you want a company that will keep the long-range investment objectives in mind or one that focuses on today and today's profit alone?

Most importantly you seem to have an understanding that education is the foundation to build your investments on, and that will keep you from chasing shiny objects. 

I think for me what helped was going into the conversation with a mapped out 10 year plan and showing her how the objectives and end goals align with hers and our family's.

You missed an important item: Depending on how a person does #1 or #2, it could get them: A fast-pass to the "Principles Office" for "bullying" and now there sitting in "detention"....
