And while it's not currently, this is something my husband and I had talked about doing and were planning to do before (ironically and sadly) he got very, very ill.

The problem with Harris' approach is its on everything so without specifically stimulating the existing housing stock which just means it will push prices higher and ironically make housing less affordable. 

@Gulliver Raza I paid an attorney a few thousand dollars to create an iron clad lease agreement a few years back, and then it became obsolete due to new disclosures being required etc.

I ironically bought my first property through auction.com and purchased it as a primary residence - it was a fantastic move for me, and I am certain it will be for you as well! 

Also, you want to make sure that your estate plan is in place to make your end of life wishes iron clad and easy for your beneficiaries.
