If you are buying another home, I think there are also ways to transfer your mortgage.We have mortgages that are similar to that in the United States but use different terms to describe them.

With that being said, what you described sounds like Owner Contribution (initial reserves / deposits by the investor).  

You're description indicates they DID NOT damage it as you describe the damage as "cracking" which is how door seals fail from normal use.

What you have described sounds like a real estate  race to the bottom and you will be in the lead .
