This could have been lessened had the government put CAFE standards on light trucks etc.After we toppled the Taliban in Afghanistan (a necessary war IMO), we should have used my idea to "spread democracy" in the middle east: Tax the heck out of SUVs, but if you own one, give you a tax credit to CRUSH it and buy something more sensible.

The area we have targeted is where we grew up- so we know it well, and has better projected revenue for us- the area is growing and alot of commercial investors from NYC are putting money into the community: parks, arts/crafts store fronts, cafes, restaurants.

Internet Rental Scam: If you have a property listed on the internet, you must read this..If you currently have your home listed for sale and/or rent-to-own on ANY popular website (CraigsList, Rental Properties, Buy Owner, etc.) please be aware of a scam that has been making the rounds for most of this past year.This specific scam is originating out of cyber cafes located in the little known Republic of Liberia (you are probably more familiar with the Republic of Nigeria to the east, and the popular e:mail scams that promise huge payouts from the Nigerian lottery, or requests from a Nigerian diplomat who needs assistance in moving cash out of his country).

Scoping out neighborhoods is a survival tactic for me.Physical signs that I look for -* Dumpsters* Contractors coming and going* Elimination of poverty industry (Check cashing places, title pawns, pawn shops) in favor of more bohemian establishments (Coffee shops, box stores, cafes, etc.)* Clean-up and neighborhoods taking care of themselves.

Though it doesn't deal directly with RE it does indirectly deal with Real Estate...I am looking at a 4 fam. mixed use brick building consisting of 3 residential apts and a store front on ground level (currently a cafe)If I bought this building I was considering having the cafe move out (their lease is up) and maybe putting in a laundrymat.
