Nick, Unless you start posting stuff like "who B Spears is doing" I don't think you have anything to worry about.

(The tip of the spear so to speak) Those just aren't as lose legged as investor meetings educationally but certainly for networking they can be very good as Jay mentioned.

They usually wait until they have a spear in the back (a burning issue they want help with) and then they sift through a couple websites until they find someone who seems like a good fit.I think a better way is to interview 5-7.

I also work in IT and wanted to add that many of the attacks that are successful come from spear phishing which is a targeted attack directly at an individual.
