They tend to attract big companies, hospitable systems, cool downtowns with good restaurants, lots of events, and are usually a 1-2 hour drive from a major metro and airport.

But it tends to hallucinate pretty hard on anything involving numbers.

Unfortunately, there are also a few people who have popped up on BP trying to sell a crappy real estate-related program but fortunately the majority of the experienced investors on here don't fall under this category (plus the program spammers tend to get banned sooner or later).  

The properties tend to have larger lot sizes and tend not to appreciate as quickly.

However, something to consider is that in midwest markets, big multi family properties tend to attract lower quality tenants.

If the two are afraid for their well-being most places have laws in place to protect them by letting them out of leases-given it is usually women escaping domestic violence.
