To combat this next round of laws, the NY chapters of the National Apartment Association have banded together to form a lobbying group called UnderOneRoofNY.org with the intent of 1) educating our lawmakers on the unintended consequences these laws have had and will have and 2) making a HUGE showing of support against these laws by showing up in person on lobby day by the hundreds.

We believe in providing state of the art payment methods, allowing the tenant to sign up for pre-authorized payments, using their mobile device or by using the rent payment kiosk located in the lobby.

Problem is the second I do that I can kiss decent school districts and modern amenities (restaurants, movie theaters, stores other than the dollar variety) goodbye, plus some of these places would even be considered food deserts.

They were coming in every 2-4 years and dictating major lobby renovations, furniture upgrades etc to the tune of $400k plus.

There is no cost to go to meetups but I always recommend to join RPOA because they lobby for many landlord costs in addition to the education and forms. 

Although NAR still has a tight grip on things, I see a company/companies lobbying to change legislation and remove brokerages completely out of the picture2) Title companies will go out of business (5-10 years)The whole cryptocurrency fiasco is the biggest bubble waiting to happen.

A single voice will not go far against the hotel lobby.

There are groups out there who are lobbying on our behalf such as the National Association of Realtors to stop the bill from being passed.

They are worth about 3 to 5 million then move here and for 500k have a loaded house with move theater and basement with 5 beds and 4 baths on a large lot and they are shocked at the prices.
